Here are just a few examples of what we do…

In 2024, Guthrie Main Street hired muralist, Kim Radford, to tell the story of the “Blue Flame” juke joint, formerly on the KY/TN line that served as a performance venue for black musicians during the Chitlin’ Circuit. This project provided “history through art” to our downtown vision of telling our story.

longhurst park

This pocket park was built by our program to create a space for community events in our downtown commercial district. Longhurst Park is dedicated to our long-time board president, Bill Longhurst. The venue is owned and operated by Guthrie Main Street and is the location for our Music in the Park, which is a free concert series May through September each year. Longhurst Park is also rented for private events.
